Cone8

Do

Who doesn’t enjoy getting a bit of creativity into their lives? Get those juices flowing at cone8, a lovely little pottery studio in the quieter recesses of Hackney Wick. Some might say it’s the perfect aperitif ahead of an awesome night out across the canal in the busier areas of The Wick.

Whether you’re a complete beginner (like us) or already a ceramics master there’s loads of different classes here. Embrace your inner Patrick Swayze with some clay throwing, create beautifully marbled jugs with Japanese Neriage techniques, or learn how to mix patterns to create stunning bowls à la Henry Holland using Nerikomi (another Japanese technique, wow Japan just knocking it out the park). And you can even take your creations home with you, yes! Screw you Ikea, we’ll make our own crockery from now on!

We really enjoyed our time here. It’s just a very cool escape from normal life, put on by a lovely group of people. Totally worth it.
