Renegade Wine Bar

Disrupting the wine industry.

Renegade Urban Winery is a beast of a winemaker, producing some of our very favourite wines, from right here in the middle of London. And it all started under a small set of arches in Bethnal Green. They would make wine during the day and then open it up as a bar in the evening. And it’s this bar, hidden down a little fairy-lit alleyway round the corner from the station, that is one of the very best wine bars in London

The space itself has so much character, as you sit in and amongst the winery space inside, and overflow out into the alley when weather’s good. The wines themselves are fantastic - a few to try: Bethnal Bubbles (a Hopped Sparking Pinot Noir), Sara (a surprisingly unusual Chardonnay), and Courtney (a delicious Nero di Troia red), all with Renegade’s unforgettably fantastic close-in photo labels on the bottles.

Hint of the day: Renegade have their base of operations in Walthamstow where they produce and bottle all the wines, and have now opened that massive space up with a wine bar of its own. Definitely worth a visit here as well if you are heading in that direction - can always be included as part of the famous Blackhorse Beer Mile, a great day out.
