Roti King
Uncompromisingly good food.
Roti King is one of those London institutions that seems to have been part of the city’s lifeblood forever and ever. They serve up cheap and cheerful humble grub with mind-blowing flavours while you’re rubbing elbows with your fellow patrons in the hustle and bustle of their little eatery.
Malaysian cooking might not be the best known over here but it has some incredible dishes. Front and centre is their signature Roti Canai with Kari, the dish that made them famous. These soft fluffy pancakes served alongside a curry of your choice are the main reason to come here and words cannot describe how good they are. You should also try to fit in the Seafood Kari Laksa (a coconut noodle broth filled with seafood and chicken) and the Nasi Lemak (their taken on spicy fried chicken). Mmmmmmmmmmm……
Tip of the day: This place gets busy and it’s no res so make sure to get there early, although no matter when you arrive the queues will already be down the street. Be prepared for a bit of wait, but don’t worry, the wait is most definitely worth it.
