Lisboeta
Portuguese food at its peak.
Finally! The new restaurant @lisboeta.london from Nuno Mendes has opened on Charlotte Street! And there is no shadow of a doubt that this one is a winner. Walking through the door, the relaxed yet lively vibes immediately put you in a fantastic mood. The White Port and Tonic you will invariably order as you sit down will also for certain help matters. The seasonal menu has both some traditional Portuguese dishes I was looking forward to (Bacalhau a Bras, Chanfana stew) as well as some more intriguing takes on Portuguese classics (looking at you 'Smoked Chourico and Beef Tartare on Toast').
The fact is everything on the menu is lush and tasty, heavenly and exquisite. But what really pushes Lisboeta above the rest is the staff. You can't fake the care and attention that obviously goes into every detail, both from the chefs in the kitchen and the staff behind the counter, all headed up by the ever humble @nunoviajante. You absotively posolutely need to go to this restaurant.
Hint of the day: Grab yourself a seat at the counter and embrace the happiness that will come your way. Oh and don't forget to finish the evening with the Tras os Montes olive oil cake alongside a little burnt-caramel cherry ginjinha to wash it down. You won't regret it ;)
