Louisiana meal kits to blow your mind.
During lockdown, Decatur became my greatest discovery - producing delicious Deep South home meal kits, these concoctions are truly some of the best meals you can get in London, and you can enjoy them from the comfort of your own home! It's all about the shrimp boils here, with their super fresh shrimp (throw in a whole lobster if you're feeling particularly sassy) and mind-blowing spices. Get yourself a beer in hand and big ol' pot on the boil and you'll be set.
And if you're truly lucky you'll be able to get a spot at one of their rare yet incredible pop-ups, keep an eye out for those as they appear every month or so. I'm still crossing my fingers, knees and toes that we'll be getting a brick'n'mortar venue from these guys soon. Is there some Louisiana voodoo magic I can get to make this happen?!
Tip of the day: I'll give you two for the price of one. One: be careful pouring the spices into the pot as they will cause a chemical reaction you haven't seen since science class at school. Two: Get a bunch of newspaper and cover your table. Throw the shrimp boil out onto the newspaper and get your hands dirrrrrty. Napkins a plenty.
