The real street food market.

The original London street market was Borough Market, and a great venue it still is. Having said this, the truth is it’s too expensive, too busy, too touristy, too much work. And so a few years ago a bunch of the distributors decided to up sticks and move down the river to Bermondsey where they created Maltby Street Market, a haven for all gourmands, world cuisine lovers, and people with eyes bigger than their stomachs.

The constantly evolving line-up means that you’ll always find amazing new discoveries every time you go. There are also ever-present traders under the railway arches, such as fan favourite Bar Tozino, that is as close to spending the day in Spain from the depths of London.

Tip of the day: Maltby is a great starting point for exploration of the area, especially for the start of the Bermondsey Beer Mile that is just around the corner. Fill up on donuts from St Johns and arepas from the market before getting your beer on!
