Up there with the very best wine bars in the city, Sager + Wilde have created a truly stunning drinking hole here. Comfortable yet classy, relaxed yet buzzing, modern yet so homely. Once you’re in there’s very little chance you’ll want to leave for the rest of the night.

Plus I haven’t even added the super knowledgeable staff into the mix yet. As with most of the best places in London, it’s not just about the venue, but it’s also about the people, if not more. And here they are so welcoming and chatty, that it feels like you are just visiting a friend’s place for a drink. They effortlessly direct you through the menu, helping you pick the exact wine that you need at that moment to make your life better.

Hint of the day: I wouldn’t dare suggest a wine as that is definitely the staff’s job. But if the hungers pangs are kicking in then it’s all about their grilled cheese sandwich. Who doesn’t need this in their life?
