Ain’t no better greasy spoon.
No, not that River Cafe. This one is so much more than that. This is a true no nonsense greasy spoon caff. Still run by the same family since forever ago, serving up inexpensive filling dishes, whether that be breakfasts, lunch, or takeaway sandwiches. The whole family are super friendly and cheerful and you might even seen the grandad helping out from time to time.
But it is all about their Full English. Proper builder’s tea. Butter-soggy toast. Crispy bacon. Crispy hash browns. Crispy sausages. Buttery mushrooms and tomatoes. Fried eggs sunny side up. All lathered in baked beans :) But honestly this is what you remember an insane cooked breakfast being like when you were growing up. There are no frills here. Just good people serving serving up good food. And if that isn’t a great reason to support a traditional family run independent business I don’t know what is.
Tip of the day: This place is amazing but just check that Chelsea aren’t playing at home that day as it’s probably best to pick a different day to try this gem.
